Photographers place is a free portal for any serious photographer.
We provide information, tools and resources for any photographer wanting to improve their photography skills, grow their business or interact with like-minded people.We are all about learning and sharing, new experiences and new friends, and taking time to enjoy the journey.
We are geared towards 'working' photographers, but appreciate everyone has to start somewhere, so serious amateurs are more than welcome to participate and learn. There is a wealth of experience gathered here and our more experienced members are more than happy to help a 'newbie' get started
We believe that as much as photography is a 'solo' career, it is important that photographers interact with their peers and stay up to date with trends and developments that could impact us all. So we will publish news and information as we encounter it, but we also encourage our members to share items of interest that they find.

PhotographersPlace.com was originally established as an initiative of OzImages Stock Photography Library, to fill the need for an online community/portal for professional photographers. While there were plenty of amateur and hobbyist web communities, the opportunities for professional photographers were extremely limited.
So Photographers Place was set up specifically to develop an online community for professional photographers, and to nuture & encourage serious amateurs wishing to take their photography to the next level.
In this most recent 'incarnation' of Photographers Place, OzImages is stepping back into a passive supporter role and will no longer be directly involved in the administration or direction of the website. They will however continue to provide content in the form of articles, videos, blog posts and other items as an 'ordinary member'.
That said, Phoptographers Place make no claims to impartiality with regards the services provided by OzImages.
We think their photography marketing package is great value and we believe OzImages has a genuine interest in making things better for independent photographers. As such, we will continue to publish their information, link to their content and shamelessly promote their services as we see fit!

Getting Involved:
Ideally we'd like to see the Members take 'ownership' of this website. This means adding your own articles, blog posts, photos, downloads etc. to really make this site your own. We will be instituting 'revenue sharing' options to encourage this in the very near future.
We'd also like to see some of the more experienced Members take control of Forum topics that interest them most as Moderators and Administrators. This would involve approving new content, 'training' new members and generally 'being' around to offer advice and lend a hand as required.
When that all starts to happen we'll have a real community where the website belongs to everyone and is a valuable resource for us all.
That's the goal ... with your help it will happen!
